EDIT: Brisbane Photographers please read
This is probably a long shot: but does anyone know of someone in the Brisbane area that would be able to repair a Minolta XD-s camera body?
END EDIT
Yeah... decided to renew the sub.
Anyway, I was going to write some paragraphs on the trip to Gladstone. However I feel all chilled and lazy, so everyone go crank some of this [link] and I'm doing the rest of this in note form.
- Alfetta: running like a charm. I guess I probably did something just over 1200km all up, it was nice to be able to get a long run in and give her an "Italian tuneup". Pity you don't seem to be able to get Ultimate north of Gympie. 95RON doesn't agree with the old engine but a bottle of octane booster put things to rights.
- Yokohama A.drives: highly reccomended. Defs don't have the grip of the C.drives but are far more progressive. Just means I've had to adopt a slightly more old-skool, tail led driving style... which is fine by me. Having the ground clearance to go explore farm tracks, river beds and stuff was cool too... and the slightly more agressive tread to not get bogged.
- Gladstone: not really a lot to do, which was cool 'cause I didn't feel like doing much. Listened to a lot of music, finished reading "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and "Farenheit 451".
- Cab-merlot... not so much a fan, Penfolds or no. In fact I'm not huge on merlot in general, but we were having chicken and whites aren't my strong point... or
Things Smash and I decided between us over the weekend:
- James Bond should go back to being a thug. Seriously, thug Bond was so much better.
- Indie-pop = great morning music
- Air does indeed make some of the best chill-out music in history.
- There needs to be another ARIA OVA... but let the afore mentioned Air do the soundtrack, with Jazz Australis, Afro Dizzi Act and possibly St. Germain to help. Hell, you wouldn't even need voice actors, just start the animation and let the music run. Seriously, as much as I love ARIA (and it is my favorite series) it could stand to be a little cooler.
Speaking of ARIA... apparently Tokyopop's picking it back up again *does happy ARIA fanboy dance*
In other news: apparenlty someone's been listening to my continuous complaints about the lack of sweet design in anime. I speak here of some of the stuff that popped up in K-On! Watched the last episode and noted that Azusa's (is that how you spell her name) sported some convincing ripoffs of the Corbusier lounge and chairs. Not to mention the nouveau-esque school furniture and Mio's K701s, macbook, uber-retro curtains and FIAT Regatta

A wise soul holds onto their dreams in a struggle.
A foolish one only dwells on burying them with it.
Glad to hear the girl is running smooth. Assume you found the "f'n rattle"?
Leave it to you to watch anime and point out design elements.

Yeah I renewed my sub too.. though I could only renew it for 3 months because I have to pay for subs for winners for the *ChildsToy-Club contest.
*sigh* I need to make some extra money this month. I'm thinking of getting a waitressing job again just so I always have money in my pocket.

Yeah, having that little bit of extra cash in hand is always good.
