Tokyo Street

Description

A dreary day in Tokyo, somehow certain parts of the city still manage to be colourful...

So, first foray into the world of digital media. Nothing wonderful I know, but hey: we all gotta start somewhere. Did a street scene 'cause it's relatively mentally un-taxing. Was originally going to be snowing as well, right up to the point where I decided that would be way to much hard work. The signs don't actually say anything, I was just looking at pictures and copying (sort of) characters off'f them. There's a high probability that it says something rude by accident. So, if you're Japanese and reading this: I am terribly sorry. I know, I really should learn the language first. But come on, it was just a test.

Biggest problem I found was trying to translate my somewhat, shall we say, messy style into digital media. Failed that miserably.

First shot at colour as well come to think of it.

So, Crits? Comments? Chocolate?

Awesome! I'm glad to see you venturing into the wonderful world of CG! And a spiffy first pic too :)

I too have a really sketchy hand drawn style... initially it was really hard to get good results with CG stuff because of it. So my way around it is to draw several sketches on top of each other. I draw a rough sketch on one layer. Then on top of that I draw a tighter more refined sketch on a new layer. Then finally on top of that a draw a finished hard smooth lined drawing... which is now possible because its basically tracing at that point. Anyway, that's what worked for me.

Well, I look forward to seeing more CG works from ya!! :)
